We had a perfect day for the 22nd Annual Indiana Highland Games and Scottish Festival. The day was filled with pipe and drum music from five different bands. The childrens' game area was enhanced by the McFarlan's and children learning how to play the tin whistle and bodhran drum. The Highland Cows and Draft Horse are always a great draw. Shopping in the Market Place and learning of Scottish heritage amongst the Clan Tents are a grand experience. The food vendors and beer tent were a great way to relax in between the events of the day. The biggest draws to the festival are the athletic competition, mass bands and parade of the clans. There's nothing more exciting then seeing the throwing of a caber or the toss of the sheaf, the pounding of the drums and the sweet sound of the bagpipe.

Below are links to pictures from the day. We will be taking a short break and in the fall; we will start planning the 2009 Indiana Highland Games and Scottish Festival. Till next year!
